Winter Internship at Indian Institute of Management Calcutta

Social Informatics Research Group is a multi-disciplinary research group at Indian Institute of Management Calcutta involving academicians, researchers and specialists in the domain of Management, Social Policy, Sociology, Education, Social Work and Computer App; Information Science. The objective of Social Informatics Research Group is to develop and evaluate Internet-enabled social media based Social Information Systems, to investigate their applications for societal benefits and to study their possible impact on individual, groups, organizations and society at large using a set of analytic tools.

Position: Research interns in a social business based research project

Location: Kolkata and its outskirts

JOB DESCRIPTION: The internship entails a multidisciplinary research focus, mainly based dealing with social science and technology. The interns will have to conduct and analyze social experiments that are based on ICT (Information Communication Technologies) and will have to be well equipped with the usage of computers. They will be required to collect and analyze data, train coordinators, interact on the field with stakeholders, collate content and be part of a business and marketing team. However, each intern will be allotted jobs according to their specific skills and may not have to all the above.

Students from Maths, Science, Economics background are primarily required to assist in developing curriculum and contents especially in English/vernacular language (Bengali) focused on topics related to mathematics and science.
