THE SOULED STORE

Internship - Marketing

URL: www.thesouledstore.com

The Souled Store  started off as a creative website that provides a platform to upcoming artists to monetize their artwork. Over the last one and a half years, we have built a community of multi-disciplinary artists (graphic designers, doodle artists, illustrators, photographers and sketch artists) and also have an in-house design team consisting of twelve members. Our range of products includes:
• Apparel (t-shirts, polos, hoodies, sweatshirts, tank tops, boxers, caps)
• Trinkets (badges, magnets, stickers, luggage tags, wristbands, key chains )
• Mugs and glasses (coffee mugs, beer mugs, shot glasses, chai glasses)
• Other products (coasters, tote bags, phone covers, back packs, playing cards, poker chips)

We also customize the above products for corporate, schools, colleges and events. We have collaborated with various organizations and artists such Google, Bank of India, Sanjay Gandhi National Park, NH7 Weekender, Enchanted Valley Carnival (EVC), Dharma Productions, All India Bakchod (AIB), Campion School, Wilson College, bajaao.com, Gutslit, Zygnema and Providence to name a few. We are also very proud to have worked with social organizations such as Teach for India and Touching Lives.

Founder history and team:
Work on the idea of The Souled Store began sometime in the month of December 2012 when all of us were still working at our respective jobs. There were four of us (Aditya Sharma, Vedang Patel, Rohin Samtaney and Sonal Jain). Despite having good jobs, they knew they wanted to start something of their own and thus The Souled Store was born in June 2013. In October 2014, we welcomed our two new members- Harsh Lal and Praneet Kakani. They handle business development and are heading our pan-India internship programme. Our art director Khyati Shah, assisted by a team of interns, is in charge of our product and website design as well as brand image. We presently have 40 members in our organisation.

What we do:
We’ve worked with various companies in the past and not only produced their merchandise but also handled their entire brand image. We’ve also successfully run campaigns for various music artists and bands on our crowd-funding website, www.mysouledstore.com. The platform has also been used by NGOs, schools and colleges to promote and help fund their merchandise. As the official merchandising partner of NH7, EVC, AIB and Sanjay Gandhi National Park, we handle everything from designing to production to inventory management to selling on our website and customer care. At the end of every month, all payments collected are transferred to the company together with a sales report, thus making us a holistic solutions partner.

Thus far:
Since our inception, we’ve been growing at an average of 20% month-on-month. Our website gets around 3,00,000 hits a month and we recently crossed 1,00,000 likes on our Facebook page. Our new website is currently undergoing beta testing and we expect our reach and traction to double before end of the year. We are also pleased to display products from over 50 artists from all across the country on our website and are always adding more to our family.

Our vision:
Our aim over the next 2-3 years is to increase our range of products so as to provide a complete branding solution to corporates and to widen merchandising options for schools, colleges and other events. It will also provide our artists with more canvasses to showcase their creative genius. We also plan to be the go-to online marketplace for all up and coming artists and expect over 500+ artists collaborating with us. As regards our internship, we are confident of having an intern from every major town / city in the country as part of our organisation.
